Mixed and designed sounds for TV spots, DVD and International movie trailers, teasers and radio spots. Edited music, sound effects, dialog and voiceover on ProTools utilizing the ProControl and D-Command work surfaces. Primarily concentrating on the 1st run theatrical TV spots for all of the Disney movie releases. Some TV spots I mixed at Picture Head were forThe Greatest Game, The Pacifier, The Chronicles of Narnia, War of the Worlds, Chicken Little, Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, Rocky Balboa and Wild Hogs.

10/03 - 01/05 - New Wave Entertainment

Burbank, California - Re-Recording Mixer

Mixed and designed sounds for TV spots, DVD and International movie trailers, teasers and radio spots. Edited music, sound effects, dialog and voiceover on the Fairlight Dream Console. New Wave Entertainment finished TV spots for all of the Disney, 20th Century FOX, New Line and Sony/Columbia Movie releases.  Some DVD trailers and TV spots I mixed at New Wave Entertainment were for the Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King, Master and Commander, Cheaper by the Dozen, Stuck on You, Welcome to Mooseport, King Arthur, The Village, I Robot, Ladder 49, Mr. 3000, The Incredibles and National Treasure.

7/00 - 10/03 - Aspect Ratio

Hollywood, California - Re-Recording Mixer

Mixed and designed sounds for Theatrical/International movie trailers, TV spots, teasers and radio spots. Edited music, sound effects, dialog and voiceover on Avid AudioVision and the SSL OmniMix console, and later with ProTools HD and the Yamaha DM-2000 console. Aspect Ratio is one of the largest post facilities of its kind in Hollywood specializing in theatrical advertising.  Some trailers and TV spots I have mixed at Aspect Ratio were for Spy Kids and Spy Kids 2, Chocolat, Get Over It, What Women Want, RugRats (the movie), One Night at McCool's, Charlie's Angels, Nurse Betty, The Contender, Bridget Jones's Diary, Vertical Limit, Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2 and Star Wars Episode 1 & 2.

Edited music, sound effects, dialog and voiceover on Avid AudioVision, ProTools and the Yamaha O2R mixing console. Some trailers and TV spots that I mixed at Cimarron were for X-Files (the movie), Lethal Weapon 4, The Truman Show, The Quest for Camelot, Rush Hour, ANTZ, Varsity Blues, You've got Mail, Payback, True Crime, The Thin Red Line, American Beauty, Gladiator and Space Cowboys.  Received 5 Key Art Awards for mixing at CBO.
 

5/97 - 4/98 - FOX TV

Hollywood, California - Re-Recording Mixer - On-Air Promo

Worked in Area 21, the 'Branding' area, designing sounds and mixing on-air promotion spots. Edited music, sound effects and voiceover on Avid AudioVision and ProTools systems with equipment such as the Yamaha 02R Mixing Console, Lexicon 300L and Eventide DSP4000 effects processors. We also used several digital samplers & synthesizers at Fox in Area 21. I was one of two engineers that were allowed to handle and layback audio onto the credit masters that went from our hands directly to satellite feeds. We mixed all of the Prime Time promos in Area 21 including spots forThe Simpsons, King of the Hill, Melrose Place, Ally McBeal, Cops, America's Most Wanted, Millennium and the X-Files. Received 4 ProMax awards for mixing at FOX.
 

9/96 - 5/97 - Alesis Corporation

Los Angeles, California - Sound Developer/Sampled Systems Developer

Designed sounds for the synthesizer group. Responsibilities included the creation of sound and sample libraries from start to finish. Planned, scheduled, engineered and produced recording sessions for new source material; transferred, looped and processed the digital audio data to create finished sound ROM chip sets for the synthesizers and keyboard products. Responsibilities also included creating demo sequences included on the PCM/CIA expansion 'Q cards' for the Alesis keyboards. I was also involved with the design of new synthesizer products.
 

1/89 - 9/96 - Greytsounds Sound Development

Northridge, California - Sound Developer/Product Manager

I founded Greytsounds in 1988 specializing in digital samples and synthesizer patches for many of the popular digital samplers/sampling keyboards/synthesizers on the market today. Greytsounds was the first company to create 3rd party CD ROMs for the Digidesign SampleCell cards. I was also first in creating a CD ROM library for the Kurzweil K2000 keyboards. I have created CD ROMs for many of the proprietary platforms in the musical instrument industry including CD ROMs for Akai, Digidesign, Emu, Ensoniq, Kurzweil, Peavey and Roland.

ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND

I have been an Apple Developer since 1989 and a 3rd party developer with Digidesign since 1990. Experience with sample editing and DSP software such as Alchemy (having been a beta tester for several years), Sound Designer II, Bias Peake, Infinity and others. Having used most of the major sequencing software available for Macintosh platform such as Digital Performer and Logic Audio, I have a complete technical understanding of MIDI and synthesizer programming. Well versed in all forms of synthesis, digital sampling, synthesizer/sampler programming, audio engineering, the programming of drum machines and hardware sequencers, computers and software, all MlDl-related equipment, as well as SCSI/Fibre Channel protocol and various hard drive and mass data storage mediums. I am also very familiar with the product lines of the various manufacturers of MI and Pro Audio equipment and own over 40 different keyboards, a Yamaha O2R96 mixing console, ProTools HD2 in a MacPro, tape machines, outboard effects, etc. I am very familiar with the Windows platform owning a PC with the Digidesign SampleCell for PC and other cards for the PC for which I have developed soundware products.

Experience working with digital audio workstations such as the Synclavier and Fairlight and have engineered and worked extensively in the studios at Westlake Audio, The Record Plant, Devonshire Studios, CBS Studios and Universal Studios on SSL, Neve and Harrison consoles.

I have designed custom sounds and samples for Mick Jagger; Dave Stewart; Dave Mason; Stephen Stills; Gabriel Katona (Starship); David Kahne (CBS Records); Gary Malliber (Steve Miller Band), Jason Bonham, Julian Lennon, Mark Hart and Richard Davies (Supertramp), the Commodores, 'Weird' Al Yankovic, Coverdale/Page, David Lee Roth and Gorky Park. I have many album credits and several gold and platinum record awards resulting from my sound design work.

My involvement with music began at age 13 playing the guitar and keyboards. I studied music at Los Angeles Valley College focusing on "Acoustical Foundations of Music" and "Auditorium and Room Acoustics" and have also attended Los Angeles Pierce College and California State University at Northridge as a Music Major and studied at the Dick Grove School of Music.
